Yesterday I fished with Stan Easly his son Chad who is off to Iraq in Jan and Jeremy. It was my honor to put one of our brave service men on a bunch of fish today. The guys told at the dock they wanted some speckled trout but really wanted to catch some redfish. So I set my sights on redfish and catch a few trout along the way too. Things started out great and stayed that way all day. We caught redfish just about everywhere but a most were under sixteen inches, But some nice keeper fish in the mix. With just about a limit of redfish we got on a trout bite and finished the day with topping off the box with some nice speckled trout. The guy’s had blast and Chad has some good fishing stories to take with him. I wish him well and salute all of our servicemen who protect and make our freedoms possible.

LAST TRIP OF THE YEAR FOR ZACHRY CONSTRUCTION CO. WE HAVE HAD GREAT TRIPS ALL YEAR WITH THE LARGE GROUPS THEY SEND DOWN ON A WEEKELY BASIS. Capt Rory and I fished the Zachry Group today. We had 2 boats with 4 anglers in each boat. We picked them up at John Miremonts lodge in beautiful Fort Beauregard. We started off in the back of Hopedale and got on a speckled trout bite right away. We made 2 stops and that was all it took. Both boats limited out on specked trout catching 125 each. In my boat they caught there limit of puppy drum 20 and 8 heads. We filled the box to the top and headed for the lodge. Capt Rory also had a beautiful box of fish. 125 SPECKLED TROUT 3 REDS 5 HEADS AND 4 PUPPY DRUM. All the fish were caught on Campo's live shrimp. Check out the dock shot below.

BEAUTIFUL DAY AT THE BEACH!!!!! Had the pleasure of fishing today with Kit Marye Shawn and Pat. They drove in from Baton Rouge last night and got an early start this morning. We started off in the back of Hopedale and went further in from there. We caught fish everywhere we went today. A lot of schools had small fish in them and some had decent fish. We ended the day limiting out catching 100 speckled trout, 1 red , 8 puppy drum, 4 sheepshead and 1 flounder. We had a cajun slam for sure. All the shrmp were caught on campos live shrimp. Weather is beautiful and fish are eating up. We have openings November and December with the best charter guides in the area. Give us a call.

Fun Saturday and Sunday on the Beach. I had the pleasure of fishing with Omar and Keith from San Diego. Both have fished with me several times before. The weather was perfect, cool, clear and little wind. They were more interested in catching Reds, Drum, and Heads than Trout. They would rather something that fights back. We fished both days in and around Oak River catching lots of fish on live shrimp fished on the bottom in Oak River and under a cork in ponds and lagoons along the shore. Saturday we had a great time catching our limits of Reds and Drum along with 40 Trout. Sunday was more of the same, lots of fish and lots of action. We limited out on Reds along with 10 Drum and 45 Trout. Not to mention the under sized Reds and Drum that were released. They were thick all over the place both days. The later the day got the bigger the fish were. At our last stop Sunday we got on a crazy Redfish bite on some 25”-32” fish. The guys had a blast with these Reds catching and releasing till they were sore. We have had some great trips together, but Omar said this was the best two days of fishing he had ever had. He will be back in a few weeks to do it again.

The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and the fall/early winter fishing is on fire. This is some of the best fishing of the year. There are still some open dates so book yours soon. I had Skip and Alex Marks today and with the cold front moving in most people would rather cancel out, but not Skip he never cancels a trip just because the weather is a little off he likes the challenge. Man it was cold this morning so we bundled up for the ride and took off in search of speckled trout and redfish. First stop and we were catching Alex put a trout in the boat before you could blink and Skip was right behind with another one. 20 on ice and the bite stopped, on the hunt for some more. The stiff NW wind had the tide falling like no tomorrow and dirty water everywhere things were slow for a while but we finally found some clean water and were back on the trout again. Pretty much every cast a bite but a lot of small fish with some nice ones mixed in. We only saw one other boat all day I guess we were the only ones up for the challenge.

Joining me today was my brother John Young Jr., his nephew Austin Adams and good friend Blake Guidry. What an incredible day of fishing. Today the trout were in a fedding frenzy, chasing shrimp all around the boat. Two at a time every cast left us with our 100 fish in no time. Fishing Magician Charters

Saturday I had the pleasure of fishing with TC, Bella and Paul. It was a beautiful weekend! I sure hope most of you reading this got out to enjoy some of it. We fished the Biloxi Marsh and the guys caught their limit of 75 specked trout and 15 beautiful reds.

All of our fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp. There are a lot of fish to be caught in the marsh these days.

I was able to get back at it again on Sunday morning with a different group.But with the same goal, to catch fish.

SundayI had the pleasure of fishing with Ray, Kevin, his son Jacob, and Jocob's grandfather. It was Jacob's 12th birthday. It turned out to be a great day for Jacob. He was eager and fired up to catch some fish which he did. He caught more fish than he had ever caught. They ended the day with 115 speckled trout, 1 nice red, and 1 very, very happy fella.

We also fished the Biloxi Marsh 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp. We had started off our trip in Lake Borgne where we caught about 30 trout and then eventually ended up back into the marsh. What a great place to fish. It sure is nice to be able to pick and choose areas to fish, and catch fish.

A TEAM STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!!! Capt Rory and myself had the pleasure of fishing today with a great group of guys from ***lord Chemical out of Bogaloosa. In my boat was Pat, Nick, Stephen and Doug. Rory's boat had Paul, Mark Craig and Steve. i walked out the door this morning to a 30 knot wind out the NW. It was chilly this morning. Good news was the tide was high and rolling out. We started off in the back of Hopedale and went in further fro there. Fishing Campo's live shrimp tight lined and a popping cork both boats put good boxes of fish together. We ended the day with 150 trout, 14 reds, 2O drum and 6 heads. Capt Rory had some really pretty trout and reds today. Some of the trout looked like they came out of Breton Sound. Double hook up for brothers Bill and Doug







I had Bill & Fay Stevenson from Gretna down again today. Bill's brother Doug Stevenson is in town from New Jersey and joined us also. Our first stop at the honey-hole was slow, as the trout threw us a curve ball. We only boxed 9 fish in the first 30 minutes of fishing, plan B was put into effect!! Our second stop had another 20-30 trout and 1 flounder hit the ice before slowing down so plan C was next. We found another 10 trout and a school of reds stacked up. We boxed 8 reds in less than ten minutes with a few more trout mixed in, then put another 4 reds on ice all while on anchor. We made one more stop in the lake fishing birds adding a few more trout topping the box off. No limits today but still a full box of fish, great weather, and great company. All fish caught on tand-em rigged chubs, tsunami swim baits, and gold spoons. Never a need for live bait down in dularge. Thanks to my crew for another incredible day on the water.

Fishing Magician Charters

Friday we had 2 boats running. Capt. Jason had the pleasure of fishing with Al and his group. The guys headed to the Biloxi marsh where we have been catching a lot of trout. But that morning it was tough, there was no tide. They still managed to catch 45 speckled trout before they headed back to the dock. The guys had to be at the dock before 12:00.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Steve and his group. We were also fishing the Biloxi Marsh and having a tough time with no tide. However, not long after Capt. Jason headed in with his group, it was like someone flipped the switch. The tide started moving and the fish turned on.

We ended the day with 110 speckled trout and 10 reds. All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp.

I have found that it doesn't matter whether the tide is rising or falling, so long as there is good tide.There's good fishing in our beautiful marshes.
